Talanta is a gorgeous village in the municipality of Monemvasia, only 22 Km from Byzantino Boutique Hotel. Located in a gorge, amid lush vegetation and running waters it is one of the many hidden beauties that fascinate the visitors. The abundance of water was for decades the driving force for the 11 watermills that used to function here and were a source of wealth for the townspeople. Today, only one of these watermills is up-and-running like the good old times, just with the force of water. It was restored in 2006 by the active cultural association of the area and, every Sunday it grinds the wheat of the residents. It is a very interesting sight worth visiting.
