The area of Monemvasia is generally rocky, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a swim when staying at Byzantino Boutique Hotel. The nearest spot for swimming is Portelo, the small gate in the walls of the castle that leads to the sea. It is where goods would be delivered to and from the ships. Today, it is a first class choice for swimming, as there is a platform for fun diving! If a car is available the most accessible beaches are:
- Gefyra beach, a long, sandy beach with shallow waters, which you can find on your right after leaving the castle
- Pori beach, located 4 Km north, which is a narrow sandy beach with view of the castle, a magnet for yachts
- Xifias beach at the south, just 10 minutes from the Castle, which is a sandy beach with crystal clear waters, favored by the locals
